Tasks and chores
Assign recurring tasks, set due dates, and track who did what.
Tasks cover recurring chores, one-off jobs, and shared to-dos. Assign them to a household member, set a due date or schedule, and track who did what across the week. Completed tasks can earn gems for the reward system.
Creating a task
Tap Add task and give it a name, optional description, and due date. You can assign the task to a specific household member or leave it unassigned so anyone can pick it up. Set the number of gems the task is worth if you use the rewards system.
Recurring schedules
For chores that happen on a schedule, set a recurrence rule when creating the task: daily, weekly on specific days, fortnightly, monthly, or a custom pattern. Orbrey generates the upcoming occurrences automatically. Completing one occurrence does not affect the next.
For more complex schedules — “every other Tuesday except school holidays” — use the recurring-task-author AI skill, which translates natural-language schedules into the correct RRule pattern.
Assigning to a member
Assigned tasks appear on the assignee's task view and send them a reminder at the configured time. Tasks can be reassigned at any time — useful when plans change during the week.
Gems per completion
Set a gem value on a task and the assignee's wallet is credited automatically when they mark it complete. This connects directly to the rewards system. Children tend to engage more with tasks when gems are attached.
Chore rotation with AI
The /chore-fairness command (Orbrey AI plugin) shows the distribution of chore completion across household members over any time window and suggests rebalancing moves. The chore-rotator skill generates a fair rotation weighted by effort and age, then creates the tasks in Orbrey automatically.
Building routines
Routines are sequences of tasks that happen in order — a morning routine, a school-prep checklist, a bedtime wind-down. Use the routine-builder AI skill to create a routine from a natural-language description, and the routine-coach agent to walk a household member through their routine in real time, ticking steps and awarding gems as they go.
