Is Orbrey available on mobile?

Yes. Orbrey is a web app that works well on any screen size. Open it in your phone's browser and it adapts to fit. No app install needed.

How do I invite my household?

Accepted Answer

Once you've created your household, head to the household settings and copy the invite link. Send it to anyone you want to share with: partner, kids, co-parent, roommate, ageing parent, or sitter. There's no limit on the number of members in a household, on any plan.

Does Orbrey work for co-parents and two-home families?

Yes. Each household can include parents living in separate homes, with shared calendars, pickup notes, and chore handoffs that keep both houses in sync. You can also be a member of more than one household at a time, which is useful for blended families and shared-custody arrangements.

Is Orbrey really free?

Yes. The Free plan gives you the dashboard, shared calendar, tasks and chores, lists and notes, grocery lists, and recipe storage. You can invite as many household members as you like and it costs nothing. No credit card required.

What does Plus include?

Accepted Answer

Plus adds the meal planner, AI recipe smart import (URL, photo, AI), pantry tracking and inventory management, ingredient tracking and food automations, a rewards and gems system, and calendar integrations with Google, Outlook, and Apple Calendar. It is A$8.99 per month, or A$89.99 per year (about A$7.50 a month when paid yearly), and applies per household.

What is the founders deal?

The first 100 households to sign up for Plus get a locked-in rate of A$59.99 per year forever (normally A$89.99 per year), plus a 90-day free trial instead of the standard 14. The price never goes up while your subscription stays active. Codes are single-use and must be redeemed within 30 days of receiving your link. If you cancel, the founders rate ends.

Can I have multiple households?

Yes. All users can create and join unlimited households for free. Plus subscriptions apply per household, so you can upgrade each home independently.

Can I cancel Plus anytime?

Accepted Answer

Yes, any time. When you cancel, your access runs to the end of your current billing period, and your data stays saved so when you come back everything is still there. One note for founders: cancelling ends the locked-in founders rate, so resubscribing later would be at the regular Plus price.

Do I need a credit card to start the free trial?

Accepted Answer

Yes. A card is required to start the trial so we can set up the subscription, but you won't be charged a cent during the trial period (14 days standard, 90 days for founders). Cancel before the trial ends and nothing comes out.

Why is pricing in Australian dollars?

Orbrey is built in Australia, so we price in AUD by default. Your card or wallet will handle the conversion to your local currency at the going rate.

What happens to my data if I downgrade or cancel?

Accepted Answer

Nothing is deleted. If you go from Plus back to Free, your pantry, meal plans, rewards, and any other Plus-only content stay where they are. You just won't be able to add to them or edit them until you upgrade again, and when you resubscribe everything is exactly where you left it.

How does the shared calendar work?

Every household member sees the same calendar. Events are colour-coded by person so you can see at a glance who is doing what. You can view by month, week, day, year, or as a running schedule.

Can I import recipes from websites?

With Plus, yes. Paste any recipe URL and Orbrey's AI pulls out the ingredients, method, and details automatically. You can also add recipes by hand at any time, on any plan.

How does the grocery list sync work?

The grocery list is live for everyone in the household. Tick something off at the shop and it disappears for everyone, instantly. Your list can also be auto-populated from your weekly meal plan (available on Plus).

How do AI assistants like Claude and ChatGPT connect to Orbrey?

Orbrey supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP), which lets you connect Claude or ChatGPT directly to your household from within those apps. Once connected, you can ask the assistant to plan dinners from what's in your pantry, save a recipe a friend texted you, import a school calendar PDF into events, or build a grocery run for the week. The assistant does the typing; Orbrey does the household. You decide which surfaces the assistant can touch and can disconnect at any time.

How does pantry tracking work?

Your pantry stays in sync with your cooking and shopping automatically. Tick a grocery item off as you put it away and it lands in the pantry. Mark a recipe as cooked and the ingredients you used are deducted in the right amounts. Adjust a serving count and the deduction matches what you actually cooked. Pantry tracking is part of Plus.

How does the rewards and gems system work?

Each chore you assign is worth a number of gems. When the assigned person ticks it done, the gems land in their wallet. Every member has their own balance (no leaderboards), and you set the prize menu together: a movie night, a trip to the zoo, ice cream after school, whatever works for your household. Kids can spend gems on something smaller now or keep saving for a bigger prize, and everyone can see what each person is working towards. Rewards and gems are part of Plus.

How is my data protected?

Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Your household content is only visible to members of your household. We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it to train AI models.

Can I delete my account and data?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Go to Settings and you will find the option to delete your account. When you do, all your personal data and household content is permanently removed from our servers within 30 days.

Does Orbrey share my data with Claude or ChatGPT?

Accepted Answer

Only what you explicitly ask the assistant to access. When you connect Claude or ChatGPT via MCP, you control which surfaces the assistant can touch (calendar, recipes, pantry, lists, and so on), and you can disconnect at any time. We don't train any AI models on your data, and the assistants don't see your household unless you've connected them yourself.
